Lindows On Wednesday, Lindows announced its official name change. Lindows new name for its international consumers will now be Linspire due to Microsoft’s win in a trademark lawsuit. Lindows willingness to compete with Microsoft has led them to lawsuit battles with the software giant globally for over two years now; pretty much since Lindows first entered the software market. Lindows Another new beta version of the Lindows OS operting system has hit the streets and this version adds some more changes to beta 1:

Builder Certification Tool desktop icon has been removed
New LOS Tutorial skin (check it out by going to the Help Center [life jacket] and clicking LindowsOS Audio Assist Tutorials)
Re-worked all thread handling to improve OS installation success to fail ratio

Lindows Review A better Lindows than Linux?


I READ PLENTY about Lindows... the articles, the hype, the Microsoft trademark lawsuit , the "lindows bashing" some of it by some debian/mandrake/insert-another-linux-distro-here crowd of fanatics. But I never tested the product. So here is my attempt to discover if Lindows fulfils its promise of "Linux made easy". Having used SCO's Linux in the past, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend SuSE 8.2 to the "power users" out there [Since I used SCO I recommend SuSE, get it? :)], but would you recommend Linux to your computer-illiterate aunt, father, mother, secretary, or lover, the kind of people who stare blank at the question: "what operating system are y ... more
