Actually there is a need to update, because this version has improved Vista compatibility and other stuff.

Can anyone validate their claims as to why this is the BEST, without talking out of their non knowing arses ???

Do any of you out there keep your 'System Drive' to the bare minimum and locate your "pagefile.sys" on a different drive, and all your essential cr*p on seperate partitions or drives that suit what that ESSENTIAL cr*p is ?

How many of you rely on 'Restore Points' to save your bacon and always fail? They take up space and make a defrag more needed. HO! HO! HO! (as it seasional).

LEAN makes a PC MEAN and that gets you speed and any AV or disk routine is a breeze and not a fire it up and go to bed senario for the dullfarks with a huge 'Sys Drive' with all their cr*p in it. Images of that drive that will get broken don't take long if you know your sh*t well.

As for me I'll stick with "O&O Defrag V8.5 Pro" as it gives me options to suit a particular partition and what data is on it. It isn't fast at sorting out my C: Drive based on ACCESS, but it does it well. The rest of my data is sorted on SPACE as it's near static for 99.99% of the time, but seperate. And we are talking Terabyte seperate.

Any 'App' that does the job fast is either STATE OF THE ART or not very good in most cases.

KIS6 is the AV for me and NOD32 sits in the wings and they love small well sorted partitions and so do my machines. I have a few other policemen policing the policemen as its ;-) smart to be smart and not just trust one product as they are always a target.

Good PC Housekeeping starts at home and if you need to defrag on a regular basis you don't know what you are doing or you have a specific need, but that's one for the smarter Dudes.

I'm just saying that's all but I know those that know better will advise me of aharper angles. Cheers Dudes.

For the dull farks that read this then go and snoop a bit before talking shite.

The Zook

Hi Zook

I'm not very familiar with certain stuff about how a computer works and I want to ask for your advise about improving my system's performance (recently I've bought a bigger hdd (seagate 160gb, 8 mb buffer, 7200 rpm , ATA 100) and it seems that my computer works slower now).

Could u please tell me how big should the 'System Drive' be?

And should it contain the installed programs (or should I install them on other partition?).

If some programs need additional space for caching some files wile working, is it ok to asign this space on the 'System Drive'?

And one more thing. Is it ok to partition my hdd using the windows installation cd for the 'System Drive' and the windows disk management for the other drives?

Thank you.

And about the 'pagefile.sys'... I understand that I should locate it on a different drive. Should it be one dedicated only for the pagefile or it could be a partition that has other stuff on it? And how do I set the drive on which "pagefile.sys" should be? (sorry if my questions are childish)

Thanks again.
