For Extended, follow the instructions in the last CS3 post. Remove cache file and use modified Photoshop.exe file.

I tested by running my date up a few months, program still ok.

Guys, need help, I have tons of plugins from CS2, now installed CS3 how am I suppose to transfer the plugins? By just moving the folder over CS3, there are errors during the loading of CS3(fastcore routines, mmx core routines,multiprocessor). Uninstalling all my plugins, CS2 and reinstalling them in CS3 will take days. Pls advice.

I have the same problem. When i try to install, i got the error message: "Please insert the Photoshop CS3 CD" I use D-tools to, but i didnt think this is the problem. I try to copy the whole cd to hard drive, and install, but dindnt work.
I think maybe the xml (payloads/setup.xml) its wront under vista.

Inspite of all the posts by rapidshare parasites/vultures/geier it does not matter what i do , i cant get the .iso to install on my system = AMD Athlon XP 3000 with 2G RAM . Non of the solutions above work . The only thing i can download from here is the .iso , non of the other downloads work . I get the first 4 or 5 parts and then it stops for a day till i get the 5th or 6th parts . Then when i try to unpack it with winrar it says some parts are missing . When i looked where it came from originaly i saw that the original has 10 parts , not 5 or 6 .

ANSWER:
Install is looking for the install disk named "Photoshop CS3"
If you copy the files to a folder named "Photoshop CS3" (without quotes") it will run fine from there.
Or write them to a new CD named "Photoshop CS3"
(If you downloaded the ISO file, use UltraISO or equivalent to extract, etc)

Well I downloaded Photoshop extended 3 times thinking i had a corrupted file but i can't get this to install. When i click on setup it goes to intializing adobe photoshop cs3 and then i goes to loading setup but closes instantly. Anyone else having this problem or does anyone know how to get around this?

TO ANYONE WHO CANNOT GET PHOTOSHOP TO INSTALL:
first, completely uninstall any old versions of photoshop. then, take the photoshop cs3 install file(s) (either ISO or folder) and move them to a folder or CD named "Photoshop CS3"...but without the quotes. one more thing, the install might be failing because SOME of the files from photoshop CS3 installed before it failed. so before you install from the "fixed" location, make sure photoshop cs3 files and shared files are completely uninstalled as well :)

p.s. (which stands for pre script here because I should have posted it first)

Well I'm still unable to Install Adobe Photoshop CS. As I mentioned above when I laucnh setup all i get is the initialization box then the loading setup for not even a sec before it closes. I even tried as suggested above to copy the contents to a folder named: Photoshop CS3 and still no luck. If you are having a problem with the installation of CS3 (Namely the setup dialog box only appearing for a second or not at all), here's the SOlUTION:

1.Go to "Run" in the Start menu
2.Type in "cmd" without quote marks
3. While in the CMD, type:
regsvr32.exe c:\windows\system32\jscript.dll

4. Close the CMD
5.Run the setup.exe again!

It should work.
If it doesn't open CMD again and type:
regsvr32.exe c:\windows\system32\vbscript.dll
